Victor Yang, MD
He is a compassionate and motivated gastroenterologist. Originally from Taiwan, Dr. Yang speaks Mandarin as well as English and Spanish. He is certified in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and he is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the Texas Medical Association, and the Texas Society for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy. He has been in practice for over 30 years and is the founder of the Texas Institute of Digestive Health. He treats a range of digestive conditions, such as Crohn’s disease, biliary tract problems, acid reflux disease, irritable bowel syndrome, colon cancer, and many other digestive conditions.
Szu Hsien Rick Ho, NP
He’s very energetic and always put in 100% to everything he does. He knew he would love to work in the health care profession ever since he first volunteered at Hoag Memorial Hospital and had won a volunteer award every season for 6 seasons. That was the record for Hoag Memorial Hospital. He graduated with honors in nursing from Queen’s University. He also had been nominated by patients every month for two years and won three nursing Daisy Award when he served at Memorial Herman system. He still holds the record of the Memorial Hermann system as today (2020).
He is highly motivated and also completed his Family Nurse Practitioner master’s degree with honors during that two years period. After his master’s degree, he continued his postgraduate education in acute care and passed the board for acute care in 2019. Currently, he is honored to join the Texas Institute of Digestive Health to prove the best care to our clients.
Practice Consultant Administrator
Has with an extensive background of 30+ years in ambulatory development in which she has strategically planned, developed, and implemented business strategies to build new medical practices and expand existing practices. She has experience in financial affairs of medical practices including accounting, budgeting, internal controls, timely reporting of performance data, along with accurate billing and credentialing services. As a consultant, Ms. Carter acts as a liaison for medical practices in coordinating dealings with legal counsel, accountants, consultants, and other advisors. Ms. Carter has a strong background in staff development, credentialing, billing and performance evaluations of staff. She oversees the overall management and coordination of medical practice activities to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies. Through the years she has built excellent relationships with providers and many organizations by providing open lines of communication
Senior Clinical Supervisor
She is graduated from Hitchcock High School in 2004 and soon after began studying early childhood development at College of the Mainland. She developed a strong sense of devotion for the medical field and later received her Certification in Medical Assisting from Texas School of Business. She has 9 years of experience in the medical field. She joined the Texas Institute of Digestive Health since December of 2017 on opening day. She has a unique skill set with compassion understanding for people and she’s passionate customer service.
Supporting Pathologists and PAs
Gifti Diruba, has worked as Histotechnologist since 2012. She started her career in “Phoenix at Miraca Life Sciences” supporting pathologists and PAs. She spent serval years thereafter working in reference laboratories, supporting cancer research professionals by performing various tests on patient tissues. She obtained her Bachelor degree in Applied science in Molecular and Cell Biology. Throughout her career, Gifti obtained HT certification and QIHC qualification. She is excited to Join the Texas Institute of Digestive Health. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
She joined company when it opened in December 2017. I am new to the medical field, but I have been in customer service for over 14 years. I oversee the surgery schedule as well as the administrative aspect of the practice.

She has a warm, loving smile and outgoing personality. She is fluent in reading, writing and speaking Spanish. She strives to make every patient feel comfortable and top priority from beginning to the end of every visit. She has been in the healthcare industry over 6 years with experience in billing, claim status, verify insurance. She also has experience in surgery scheduling, referrals, and front desk. She is always willing to go above and beyond to help in any area needed to make the office successful. You may count on her for all your patient care needs to your financial concerns. In her spare time, she loves to travel and spending time with her family and friends.

She has over 20 years’ experience in the gastroenterology field. I understand the front and back office as well as the billing of this practice. I believe the key to success is to have a positive attitude in every aspect of your life. I have a caring nature towards everyone from patients to friends and family. I love helping others and spending time with family and friends. If somebody is having problems with anything, I try to find a solution that will benefit them and solve the problem. Outside the office, I like to read mystery novels and enjoy doing crafts.

Alyia has 5 years of customer service experience and holds a bachelor’s in biology from Texas Southern University. She will be sure to greet you with a warm smile and a friendly hello to welcome you as you walk into our amazing practice. She is here to answer any questions you may have and assist with any appointment needs from Insurance to scheduling. Alyia enjoys working with our incredible staff and loves being an overall part of seeing our patients achieve such healthy beautiful smiles. Cindy Garcia has more than 6 years of experience working in the medical field with an exceptional customer service background, she is a highly self-motivated and positive individual that enjoys helping people. She graduated from Florida Career College with a Medical Assistant Technician Certification. She is fully bilingual and enjoys caring for all patients and spending the necessary time with them to better assist with any additional needs.
